What Happened?
On November 5th, 2023, an alarming incident occurred involving Bobby Shanks, a Missouri realtor, during his vacation in Palmas Del Mar. While driving his golf cart, a 15-year-old boy (the victim) was verbally confronted by Bobby Shanks, who accused him of reckless driving. Witnesses described Mr. Shanks as visibly angry and intimidating during this encounter. The confrontation involved two teenage girls sitting in the backseat of Mr. Shanks’ vehicle. Both appeared to be minors and were visibly crying during the interaction. Witnesses were concerned enough to take note of Mr. Shanks’ license plate. Approximately 30 minutes later, after the initial encounter had ended, the victim was sitting peacefully in his parked golf cart, listening to music. Bobby Shanks returned in another golf cart, shouted, “I’m going to kill you!” and intentionally crashed head-on into the minor’s golf cart. After the collision, Mr. Shanks exited his cart, physically assaulted the minor by punching him forcefully in the face and throwing him to the ground. As Mr. Shanks prepared to continue his assault, a security guard intervened, causing him to flee the scene in his golf cart.
